Surfact
Surfact

I won tix for the Racing Ape concert in Vega last night. The warm up was a Danish band called Surfact, and was extremly inspired by Pearl Jam and Nirvana. But it was actually really good. They were having fun on stage and the audience enjoyed the show. The front man, Jesper Storgaard, had an amazing voice and was looking so calm when he was singing, all smiley and happy.
- Really nice experience!

Racing Ape
Then Racing Ape came on - and I will actually not use many words on that part of the show other than the sound was terrible, the singer was a right little prat, and there was no appealing bits what so ever in their performance.

Anyways we went to Stengade 30 afterwards, where Bjørn Svin playing. Not that we saw very much of that, but thanks a lot to Malene for a very nice and fun night out!

Franz Ferdinand in London

Tonight I went to the Franz Ferdinand concert in London where they were playing in Alexandria. First of all I have to say that there were some pretty cool waming up - two bands The Rakes and the Editors. Mainly the last band was interesting. But when Franz Ferdinand went on stage the hole audience went into a complete party mood. I am not quite sure I have ever experienced an audience that was so much up for an evening of good music. There was such an amazing buzz in the audience!
Anyways Franz Ferdinand delivered a fantastic 75 minutes long concert. Full of energy and an absolutly amazing stage and stage show! I have indeed never seen such a beautiful stage with everything from the lightning to decoration and to a camera following everything around on the stage and casting it on three screens in the hall. It was filmed in B/W and with a bit of delay - it looked like something that had been taken out of a music video from the sixties - really really cool!
I don’t know a lot of their music but it was defintely not needed to have a really good concert experience. British people know how to have a party and that made it all so much more fun.

In total we had about two and a half hours of live music which was fantastic! I can strongly recommend to get hold of tickets for their tour. Thanks to Nick for inviting me and for making my evening fantastic!

Spleen United

Pumpehuset, last night, Spleen United, fantastic!

Spleen United

Danish upcoming band playing really spacy music, kind of synth-trance pop…I don’t know what so ever what to call it other than really nice music.
Anyways, Pumpehuset is a nice place for music as it is pretty intimate when there are concerts on. The view is fairly acceptable and the sound is fine. Not quite loud enough last night though.
Spleen United has only really been around for a couple of years. And resently their first album came out. I find it to be a bit “sounding all the same” and yet very fascinating and interesting - dreamy. It kind of takes you back into the 80’s, and that I like. I like the simple electronic sound of that time, so I guess that is why I enjoy their music so much.
And last night was breath taking as everything from theirs looks to sound was all 80’s. I am very sure that Spleen United will come a long way!

I was up intil last night not aware of how synth-pop the music is. I mean I can hear that it is, but they actually have three synthesizers, a drummer, and guitar on stage. One of the synth-players is playing base as well. The light on stage mainly comes from behind the stage and lights up the hole audience in an fantastic inspiring and poetic way.

It was such an amazing experience to be there. I was totally send back in time.

Thanks to Malene, Mette, and René for a fun night out!

Coldplay and Goldfrapp

Coldplay

Last night Coldplay played in Forum. The support was Goldfrapp - and what a treat! My sister just resently introduced me to Goldfrapp, it is really cool pop music - check them out!

I had expected that Coldplay would have played songs from their third album primarily. But it turned out that it was a big mix of all their albums, and that was very positive as I am not that keen on X&Y.
It is funny though how one could have the opinion about Coldplay that it is fairly quiet music. But when you see them live it is very different. I am not sure how they do it, but it really really rocks live. I saw them last time they were here in Valby Hallen. And that was a super concert as well, actually it was so amazing that I got carried away and was singing along so much I lost my voice for three days. When they played on the Roskilde Festival it was really good too, but I think I prefer to listen to them to a normal concert.

It was my first concert in Forum of some strange reason. It was a nice place, just the right size. But what was up with the beer prices? Oi Forum - shame on you!

I must admit that I am up for a few days without a concert in the calender - four concerts since last Saturday has worn me down (-:
